Villa Il Torrino sorge sulle rovine del castello di Montechiari, proprietà dell'antichissima e nobile famiglia dell'Agnello che vanta tra i suoi antenati Giovanni, unico Doge della Repubblica Marinara di Pisa.
Dal 1350 al 1450 il castello fu teatro delle lotte fra la potente Repubblica Marinara e Firenze; soffrì incendi e devastazioni fino alla quasi completa distruzione.
Successivamente fu costruita la Villa che appartiene tuttora ai discendenti della famiglia dell'Agnello.

Villa Il Torrino rises above the ruins of the Montechiari Castle once belonged to the dell'Agnello family, where we can find among its ancestors Giovanni dell'Agnello the Only Doge of the Maritime Republic of Pisa. From 1350 to 1450 the dell'Agnello's Castle witnessed the furious and violent wars fought between the Maritime Republic of Pisa and the powerful City of Florence, and as a consequence of that the castle sufferd fires and devastations up to its complete destruction. Later on Villa Il Torrino was built and still nowadays belongs to the dell'Agnello family descendants.
